The Four Qul of the Holy Quran (04 Qul)
Al-Kafiroon, Al-Ikhlas, Al-Falaq, An-Naas
The Four Qul of the Holy Quran (04 Qul) are the surahs from the last chapter (Para 30). They are known as Surah Al-Kafiroon, Surah Al-Ikhlas, Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas. These surahs are very easy to memorize and most of them are 04 to 06 aayah long surahs. Kids generally start their journey from these surahs and complete their full journey of Quran recitation.
These Quls are the most Powerful surahs against protection from evil. Surah Al-Kafiroon and Surah Al-Ikhlas are best for protecting shirk, Surah Al-Falaq and Surah An-Nas protect from whispering of shaitaan, mischief of created things, and magic.
The Rewards of Reciting the 04 Qul
These surahs have significant importance in terms of protection and rewards:
Surah Al-Ikhlas:
It teaches us about the oneness of Allah and the belief that Allah is one and only, he has no partner.
“Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “He is Allah—One ˹and Indivisible˺; Allah—the Sustainer ˹needed by all˺. He has never had offspring, nor was He born. And there is none comparable to Him.”
If any Muslims recite Surah Al-Ikhlas, Its recitation is compared to reciting one-third of the Holy Quran.
Surah An-Nas and Surah Al-Falaq:
These two surahs also known as Al-Mu’awwidhatayn, is an Arabic term referring to the last two suras (chapters) of the Qur’an, viz. Al-Falaq, and Al-Nas
“The Messenger of Allah(S.A.W) would seek refuge from the jinn and the (evil) eye of humans, until Al-Mu’awwidhatain were revealed. So when they were revealed he used them and left other than them.” Sunan al-Tirmidhī 2058
Surah Al-Kafiroon:
Recitation of this surah protects you from shirk.
“Say, ˹O Prophet,˺ “O you disbelievers! I do not worship what you worship, nor do you worship what I worship. I will never worship what you worship, nor will you ever worship what I worship. You have your way, and I have my Way.”
